Daybroke and STEREO @ Effenaar

It is already two evenings ago that we were opening up for STEREO, the band which was formed during the RTL5 tv-series “Rock Nation”. This would be an exciting gig, especially for bass player Jaap. Because besides the fact that this was only his second gig and the first time he was about to sing live, he was also one of the last two candidates for the role of bass player in ‘Rock Nation’. That’s why at arrival at the Effenaar immediately somebody shouted: “Japie!”. It was Stephan, drummer for STEREO and he was smoking a cigarette outside. The rest of the band was still checking the sound so we took the time to build up the drumkit behind the stage and check out the backstage room… More >
Very first gig Jaap @ Estrado

Joost played his very last show a week ago and yesterday evening it was my turn to take over the baton! My first show with Daybroke at Estrado in Harderwijk was about to be a fact. At arrival it was very obvious that we we were taken care of very well. Friendly people, a nice dressing room with snacks and a fridge filled with enough Red Bull and beer to fill a bathtub.
After the band Vegas For Millions left the audience in a good vibe, it was our turn to hit the stage. After several rehearsals, auditions and meetings I was about to play the gig that I was looking forward to so much. It was great to be onstage with these musicians; this will bring lots of good for the future! On to the next gig at the Effenaar in Eindhoven!
